Wedding July 4th Weekend
Hi all! This is my first post on Reddit, so bear with me.
I recently got engaged and have started looking at venues for summer 2027. It's been much harder than I expected because my fiancé is a teacher and football coach, so we're pretty much limited to June through early August.
On top of that, I've been a bit picky about venues 😅 I've always envisioned an estate-style wedding, and I originally dreamed of getting married in Greece or Italy. We seriously looked into making it a destination wedding but ultimately decided to stay in the Midwest so it would be easier and more affordable for our family, friends, and older guests.
Anyways... I finally found a venue that I absolutely love. It's exactly the style I've been looking for, and because it's a newer venue, the pricing still fits our budget. However, the only Saturday they have available during the summer is July 3rd.
Technically, we could wait until late October after football season, but I've always imagined getting married in the summer and really want to take advantage of everything the property has to offer.
Would it be really inconsiderate to have a wedding over Fourth of July weekend? I'd hate to interfere with people's annual traditions or holiday plans. But I also wonder if the long weekend might actually make travel easier for some guests?
Curious to hear what others think, especially if you've attended or hosted a wedding that weekend. Thank you in advance!
