Does it sound like a sciatica problem? I'm losing hope
I've been dealing with lower back pain (+ upper glutes area) for a few months now. It started in March when I got random zaps in my lower back for around 3 days straight. It went away and came back in the end of April, same thing. The next time it happened in the end of June, but after it everything changed to a pretty bad muscle spasms, tightness around that area, sometimes more in my back, sometimes more in my legs.
My doctor ordered an MRI to see if there are any disk herniations that are pinching the nerver or anything else.
The conclusion was: no intervertebral disc herniations are seen in the lumbar spine. There are no signs of spinal canal or intervertebral foraminal stenosis, and no evidence of nerve-root compression.
I was recommended deep tissue massages to remove muscle stiffness. My first session was yesterday, when we reached lower back area it was hurting so bad. He did check on me and asked if it hurts, I said yes and he started working on that area more. I was warned that my muscles are going to be a bit sore the next day and he will see me again in a day.
So what happened is after 1.5 months of no zaps I'm back to it again. It zaps right near my spine on the right. This part is very sore if you touch it and I'm almost constantly in stress, because I'm terrified of getting this sharp pain again. The worst zap was in the morning and till the evening there were small ones, that didn't fully went through. The zap just stays in the same spot in my back and doesn't go anywhere down or up. And isn't really triggered by anything, I could be laying and it hurts me.
I'll talk to the therapist tomorrow, but just looking for any other opinions, because I still don't have a full 100% diagnosis, it's all guesses and nothing really works. Stretches don't fully resolve the problem, massage made it worse, I stopped sitting at all 2 months ago to not trigger it. I'm starting to lose hope and think I'll just have to go on strong painkillers for the rest of my life. I thought I was getting better and just got pulled back to how it was.
