Question about Getting Cerakote on a Gun

I recently acquired a Bond Arms Cyclops in 45-70 and it’s an America 250th edition which has all sorts of special engravings and whatnot

Will cerakote cover up or fill in those engravings?

One thing that never came up about the gum was apparently its tendency to flash rust until I got the gun and it very sternly warned me inside the box to basically let it live in the box with a silica packet.

Anyone have any advice or experience with cerakote or of that warning is just over the top because flash rust isn’t really a big issue with the gun?

I’ve never had a gun that had to before that had to be constantly oiled like a damn high end chef knife
