Vinted generated the wrong shipping label for my first international order. What should I do?
I’ve been selling on Vinted for about a month, and this is my first buyer outside of the U.S. I’m hoping someone can give me advice because I’ve never dealt with this before.
The item is my most expensive sale so far. I had the shipping size listed as Large, which has always shown as up to 4 lb on my end. When I went to print the label, I noticed Vinted generated a label for 0 lb 15.9 oz, which is not accurate for the item.
I’m already nervous about shipping internationally because of the risk of something getting lost, and now I’m worried that using an incorrect label could leave me responsible for extra costs. I contacted Vinted support, but I only received an automated response that wasn’t helpful. They said they escalated it to a support person, but it may take 24–48 hours.
Before noticing the issue, I had already messaged the buyer thanking them for their purchase and saying I’d ship it today. I always try to ship within 1–2 days. I had to send another message shortly after explaining the label issue and letting them know I was waiting on Vinted before shipping.
Has anyone had this happen before? Should I wait for Vinted to fix the label, cancel the order, or ship anyway? I’d really appreciate any advice.
