**The concept:**

Every hero in this game gets assigned to one or more factions, depending on their lore.
Each faction has an individual **Base Perk** as well as a **Team Perk** assigned to it, and the more members of that faction are on your team, the higher that buff stacks for everyone.

**In practice:**

Let's take the X-Men as an example.
Their faction's **Base Perk** is **ultimate generation**, while their **Team Perk** is **ally healing** upon death

1-2 X-Men on team => nothing

3 X-Men on team => **+4%** Ultimate generation for your team

4 X-Men on team => **+8%** Ultimate generation for your team

5 X-Men on team => **+12%** Ultimate generation for your team

6 X-Men on team => **+16%** Ultimate generation for your team

\+ A **faction exclusive Team Perk** *(at 6 Members only)*
i.E. everyone getting healed to max. health when a teammate dies
The ability then goes on cooldown for 20 seconds

**Further concepts:**

*(Effect scaling remains the same for everyone, starting at* ***3*** *Members* ***5%****, then* ***increasing by 4%***
*for* ***4,*** ***5*** *and* ***6*** *Members* ***respectively****, unless stated otherwise)*

**The Avengers**
\- Base Perk: **+4%** **Damage reduction** when standing near teammates
\- Team Perk: Reduce **all cooldowns** by **20%** *(at 6 Members only)*

**Thunderbolts**
\- Base Perk: **+4% Movement Speed**
\- Team Perk: **40% Faster Respawn** (at 6 Members only)

**Fantastic Four**
\- Base Perk: **4% more XP & Character XP gained**
(Starts scaling at 2 Members. **2 => 4%**, **3 => 8%** etc.)
\- Team Perk: Once a teammate uses an ultimate ability, all teammates are granted
**protective bubbles** for 3 seconds *(at 4 Members only)*

**Guardians of the Galaxy**
\- Base Perk: 4**% reload speed**
\- Team Perk: All members are granted a **+10%** increse to their base **Attack Speed**
*(At 6 Members only)*

**Asgardians**
\- Base Perk: **+4% healing efficiency**
\- Team Perk: Upon reching 0 HP, 1 member of the team is granted immortality for 10 Seconds.
The ability then goes on cooldown for 60 seconds *(At 4 Members only)*

**FAQ**

Q: *Can multiple Base Perks be active simultaneously?*
A: >!Yes, as long as the respective members are present.!<

Q: *Are characters only assigned to one faction?*
A: >!No. Thor, for example, is part of both The Avengers and Asgardians, therefore he counts as 1 member for both factions simultaneously.!<

Q: *Do these ovveride Teamups / bring back the OG teamups?*
A: >!No, these aren't focused on characters, but the factions they belong to.!<

Q: *If more characters from a single faction get added to the game, doesnt that faction become too strong?*
A: >!Yes, if it reaches a point where you have 20+ X-Men, this system will require finetuning / "nerfing" the X-Men's synergy perks. Alternatively, the X-Men could be split into 2 or more factions at that point. !<

The general idea is to incentivize players to pick teams based on their in-universe constellations, not merely the characters themselves. Players would therefore sacrifice not playing a meta-character,
in exchange for having a strong team buff.

Ideally, this system won't overpower or dictate the meta, but serve as a counter to always playing the same constellations based on the current meta.

It in my opinion also adds something that is currently absent from this game, which is the iconic in-universe pairings, and getting rewarded for immersing yourself into this world.

I'm sorry for the very long post, I've had this idea for quite some time.
Please share your opinions on this, especially if you're critical of my idea, and share what changes you would make.
