AITA for wanting to break up with my(23M) boyfriend(34M) over vegetables?

Okay, so let me start at the beginning. My boyfriend and I have been together for 3 years now, and it's been going great, he's funny, charming, and always treats me with respect and love. This all started just a few weeks ago, when we were on a completely standard date of ours, going to the movies and dinner at home. I like making him this Zucchini casserole that my grandma taught me how to make when I was younger, it's a childhood dish and cooking is one of my favorite ways to communicate my love to others. But this time, when I went to get the Zucchinis for the recipe, they were nowhere to be found. I asked my boyfriend if he knew where they went, and he said that he did not. This was strange to me, as I had just bought them a few days ago for an occasion like this, and we haven't had any guests over in weeks. (for context, we live alone.) And I'm not usually a forgetful person, so I gave literally everything another check through to find them, but no luck. I asked him again if he knew where they were, and I said it was okay if he ate them or something, I just didn't want to keep looking if they didn't exist anymore. But he responded harsher than last time that he didn't do anything with them, which I thought was weird, but apologized since I had upset him. I looked everywhere, the basement freezer, everywhere food could be. I don't really know why, but in the moment I was so frustrated that I checked places food wouldn't normally go. Eventually, that lead me to our second bathroom. For context, I really usually only use our main bathroom due to all of my personal hygiene products being kept there. But I look at the bathroom wastebasket and what do I see, but a shimmering, verdant green lubed up zucchini. I was furious, not just because of the wasted food, but because he lied to me. I tried explaining this all to him but he kept saying that I was overreacting and "villainizing" him. He said it doesn't matter what he does in private, and that it didn't matter that I bought the Zucchini because he pays more rent than I do. I'm really trying to explain that it's a trust issue for me, but every time I try I'm rent than I do. I'm really trying to explain that it's a trust issue for me, but every time I try I'm "making him feel bad" or "kink shaming". How can I explain myself better? Should I just let this go, because I have almost said I wanted to break up many times during our disagreements, but they're all looping back and repeating the same argument over and over.
