Show developer experience turned itself on

I may be overreacting, but since this is a password manager I want to be extra sure.

Yesterday when I opened 1Password (version 8.12.20 or 8.12.22 in production channel) on my windows 11 PC and checked settings, I saw that show developer experience was turned on. I have never done this myself.

Weirdly no developer panel was visible

I then went and checked for updates to install the latest 8.12.30 version. As soon as I hit check for updates I saw the developer tab show up on the left.

After the update was done I turned it off since I don't need those features. It also did not turn back on on later restarts.

I want to know whether this is normal behaviour or simply something caused by ongoing development on the developer experience and not a result of something malicious.

Does anyone have answers?
