Is this normal?
Any other guys ever lose all interest in talking to ladies even though your sex drive is completely fine?
This has been confusing me for the past few weeks, and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced it. For context, I'm in my early 20s. I've always been attracted to women, and for a long time I'd wanted to become more confident approaching girls and getting their numbers ofc with the end result being it leading to sth.
Recently I actually managed to get two numbers. But here's the weird part. After texting each of them an opener I immediately lost all interest. I deleted the messages, deleted their contacts, and just didn't feel like continuing the conversation.
The strange thing is that my libido is still very high. It's not like I've suddenly become asexual or anything. It's specifically the idea of texting, getting to know someone, flirting, or building a connection that feels exhausting. I don't even feel anxious about it anymore, I just... don't care enough to continue, and for some reason it really irks me cuz it's like my sex drive and motivation for social connection are moving in completely opposite directions and this incongruence is just uncanny.
Over the past year since nitoke uni I've also been heavily focusing on career growth and just generally tryna build my future...(like I've always done this, just that it's been overboard since I started living alone), idk if the brain can temporarily rank activities by perceived value 🤔, like unconsciously thinking in terms of the benefits I get from the energy and effort I put into things, say studying = progress, lifting = progress, hobbies = progress, but texting strangers = uncertain payoff, hence no interest in progressing there 🤦.
Has anyone else gone through something similar?
Did it eventually pass?
Was it stress, burnout, emotional exhaustion, or something else?
Did you just take a break from dating, or was there something that helped?
I'm mainly interested in hearing from other guys who've experienced this, especially if you later figured out what was actually going on.
Would appreciate any insights.
