How did you make the most of your AMEX
Hi All,
Posting in this sub, because I guess the most competitive creditcard point collectors of the Netherlands are in here. I'm wondering what you are doing to make the most of the AMEX creditcards and the creditcard points?
I've seen a few videos on travel credit cards and collecting creditcard points. This has recently made me decide to get an AMEX Flying Blue Platinum due to a large amount of costs coming up in the next year and the very generous welcome bonus that I got through a referral. However I can't escape the thought that it is hard to get a lot of value, unless you have a very high (to dutch standards) spending level. Therefore I wonder, if you've optimized your spending to get most points, including groceries at Jumbo, using it to buy fuel, online, travel etc. Are you getting more value than the cost of the creditcard? And for those who do, how did you do it?
Now something else I've seen several people suggest on Youtube and Reddit to cancel, or downgrade cards every year just to get a new welcome bonus after. That left me wondering if this is really a thing people are doing, or if this is something for the most competitive points gatherers amongst us?
Thanks already :) and obviously the almost obligatory referral link: https://americanexpress.com/nl-nl/referral/fb-platinum?ref=sTANM6s29
