Car:

* 2012 Audi Q5 3.2
* 192,000 km
* 7-speed automatic

The issue started while driving:

* Dashboard warning: **"Gearbox malfunction - you can continue driving (limited functionality)"**
* Car still shifted through gears.
* However, acceleration became very poor.
* RPM increased but vehicle speed did not increase accordingly.
* The car went into a reduced power/torque limitation mode (maximum around 80 km/h).

Diagnostic scan showed:

* **P17D800 – Torque limitation due to clutch temperature**
* Status: Passive/Sporadic

I have received conflicting opinions:

**Workshop 1:**
They found an ABS-related fault and believe the ABS module is causing the transmission issue. Their recommendation is to replace the ABS unit first and then see if the gearbox issue is resolved.

They also work on mechatronics, but they still recommend starting with the ABS repair.

**Transmission specialist:**
They believe the issue is the mechatronics. However, their solution is only a brand-new OEM mechatronic, which is over 20,000 AED for the part alone, so that option is not realistic for this car.

I am now looking for a workshop in Dubai that:

* has experience with Audi S-tronic/mechatronics,
* can properly diagnose the cause,
* can repair/rebuild mechatronics if possible,
* or can source/install a quality used or rebuilt transmission if needed.

I'm not looking for a diagnosis over WhatsApp. I would appreciate recommendations from people who have personally dealt with Audi transmission repairs in Dubai.
