Which time to visit the Acropolis?

Visiting the Acropolis for the first time in a couple of weeks. We unfortunately waited to long to book our tickets and now the earliest time available is 11am. Obviously this time will be hot and crowded which we can deal with but I was wondering if we are better off at doing the 6pm slot? Just wouldn't want to be rushed out of there. Any advice is helpful! Thanks!
