Clay (Max Thieriot)’s vocal fry

Does anyone else find Clay’s voice unbearable? If you can understand his mumbling, it’s the vocal fry that rakes my nerves!

It’s not the character, he does this in Fire Country too (not a great show btw). Ahhh someone tell me they feel me?
