Job finding

Hi everyone, How realistic is it to find a job as a new grad 1 to 1.5 hrs away from major metro cities in Texas like Houston, Dallas, Austin ? All the recruiters I spoke to just said impossible and asked me to look somewhere else. Is it true? Is it that bad now ?
