What made you start taking identity protection seriously, and what changed after that
I started taking identity protection a lot more seriously after realizing how many times my own information has been caught up in data breaches.
It started with just checking haveibeenpwned out of curiosity, but what I found was quite unsettling. I found a lot more of my accounts and data floating around there than I expected.
And then seeing how frequently new breaches seem to happen made me realize that I have a lot less control over my personal info than I thought.
Before that, I mostly thought protecting my identity meant keeping an eye on my bank accounts and being careful about suspicious emails. But the more I looked into it, the more it felt like there was a lot happening outside of what I could realistically monitor myself.
That’s what pushed me to start caring more about identity protection. It’s a lot more practical having something continuously monitoring for suspicious activity than trying to remember to check everything myself.
Wondering how it’s been for everyone here. Did you have a particular moment when you were like wow, I have to get serious about identity protection?
