Ways to beat the heat this weekend??

Hi all - I have a visitor in from the UK this weekend and we're looking for some ideas for things to do without dying in this heat. We had outdoor things planned but are looking for some alternatives.

What indoor things can we do? Are there any "drive-by" things to see, either from the car or by a quick pop in?

Any and all ideas welcome, thanks!!
