Did anyone see a massive fireball meteor in the sky last night?

I was on the beach with some friends, looking up at the sky and to the northeast noticed something greenish catch my eye. I looked over and caught a green-burning meteor, so bright I could almost see the rock inside streak past in a second, burn up in yellows and oranges, then vanish. A friend caught the very end of it so I know I’m not crazy.

I looked into meteor showers that are happening right now, and saw that the alpha capricornids are happening July-August, and that they’re “extremely bright, matching the brightness of Venus” link: [https://604now.com/meteor-showers-metro-vancouver-august-2026/.\](https://604now.com/meteor-showers-metro-vancouver-august-2026/)

What I saw was way brighter than Venus, coming closer to a low-flying plane or the moon on a hazy day (for a brief second).

Did anyone else see it or know what it was? Does a bright one like this occur often? Did it breach through the atmosphere further than most do? Any information would be awesome!
