Acadia or smokies?

I’m leaving NC soon and moving to the west side of the US. Something I never got to do was explore the smokies or see what the east coast has to offer such as Maine. To my understanding, the smokies are very touristy friendly with lots to do, while the view of the Acadia National Pond and Chimney pond seems breathtaking.
Which experience did you favor if you did both?
