F | 22 | Agnostic | Never Married | Dhaka | Student

Hi! I'm 22 F, Muslim by family background, and currently studying at the University of Dhaka.

I'm posting this because I'm looking for someone who is also dealing with family/social pressure around marriage and would be open to a somewhat unconventional arrangement. I'd rather be upfront about it so that only people who genuinely understand and are comfortable with it reach out.

A little about me:

22, 5'6"

Never married

Currently a DU student and quite ambitious, although I haven't figured out a fixed career path yet.

I'm an ambivert, pretty talkative once I'm comfortable, and I'd say I have a pretty good sense of humor.

I enjoy reading and travelling, and one of my long term goals is to travel around the world.

I come from a well educated and religious family, although I'm personally agnostic.

I'd describe myself as someone who values independence, personal space and having my own goals in life.

What I'm looking for:

Age: preferably 27–32

Height: 5'8"+ is a must

Never married

Well educated, preferably from DU or another reputed/prestigious university, and ideally from a well educated family

Someone who is intellectually curious, knowledgeable, ambitious and genuinely wants to do something meaningful with his life

Someone honest in his professional life and generally serious about his goals

Ambivert would be nice

Someone who's already finished studying and working would be preferable, although students are okay too

Living abroad is completely fine

Someone from the northern part of Bangladesh would be preferable, but I'm open to any district

Atheist or agnostic would be preferable. Coming from a religious family would actually be a plus, since I come from one myself.

Preferably a non-smoker and non-alcoholic. I'm not bothered by someone having a drink occasionally, but I wouldn't be comfortable living with someone who's a regular drinker or smoker.

About the marriage itself:

I want to be very clear about this part. The purpose of the marriage would mainly be to deal with family/social pressure. There wouldn't be any romantic or sexual relationship between us, and I don't want to have children, I'm permanently childfree.

I'd want us to be friends and have a good understanding of each other, though. I don't think we need to be romantically involved to respect each other, enjoy each other's company or genuinely care about each other as people.

I'd also want both of us to be free to have romantic relationships outside the marriage. Obviously, this would have to be something we're both aware of and comfortable with, rather than something hidden from each other.

We would live under the same roof, but in separate bedrooms. From the outside, I'd want the marriage to look completely normal, basically, we'd participate in family events and social occasions as a happy, normal couple. The actual arrangement and boundaries would stay between us.

Even without a romantic relationship, I think living under the same roof requires a certain level of compatibility. Our personalities don't have to be identical, but our basic values, mindset and outlook on life should be reasonably compatible. Otherwise, I don't think this kind of arrangement would work long-term.

I'd want both of us to manage our own personal expenses. Neither person should have control over the other's money, career, friendships or personal life.

I'm not expecting to meet someone and get married immediately, though. I'd rather take as much time as we need to get to know each other first, become friends, and talk honestly about our values, expectations and boundaries. If we genuinely get along and feel that our outlooks are compatible, then we can consider marriage.

I'm not looking for hookups or a temporary arrangement. I'm looking for someone who is genuinely serious about this and understands that it would be a long-term mutual agreement based on trust, respect and honesty.

If this sounds like something you might be looking for too, feel free to DM me. Please tell me a little about yourself rather than just saying "hi." :)
