Relief cut

Can those with experience shed some light if they think the relief cut is worth having? I’m going to do a MTO boot with the padded tongue, and other than aesthetics, just wondering if there are any downsides or if it’s a solid all-around upgrade (love that we have these custom options now). I was wondering if the leather starts flaring out over time where the notch is. This would be purely for casual wear. I have a pair without a relief cut and never had a comfort issue in that spot, but the upper leather does bunch up a bit. Please share some pics if you have any as well. Thank you!
