Am I crazy or are there just no single men?

Question

I’m a 49F. Lived in one of the major metro areas in the us for 6 years now and been single for 6 of them. I’m average looking at least I think (actually have pics on my page), although of course no one is everyone’s type.

I realized yesterday that I don’t know any single men in my age range. I can’t think of a single one. I go out. I go to concerts and bars and sports games. I have friends. I don’t sit at home. I go to events to meet new people. The single men I meet are in their 20s and 30s and I am definitely not into that.

I’ve done online dating for I guess about 15 years now off and on. When I was in my 30s of course the pool was deeper. Being 49, I’m outside of most men’s age filters. And I completely understand that we women become undesirable to a lot of men at my age. It’s just biology. But there are of course SOME men that I see in my age range on the sites, and I still get some matches. But getting one of them to meet me in person for a date is like pulling teeth. And I can’t remember any second dates that have come of those rare first dates in a few years. I think most people are getting off the apps because they’ve just become a cesspool of disillusioned people. And I’m not a fan either.

But surely there must actually be single men in their late 40s who still want to date women in their own age range. Who are still interested in sex and intimacy. Who aren’t still deciding if they want to have kids. Who aren’t busy raising toddlers. Who aren’t in the middle of battling addictions or declaring bankruptcy. Surely there must be a couple of good sane men with their lives together who are actually single and actually want to date. Right? … Right?
