A funny mistake on tabletop
Played my 2nd ever game today, I played CSM against sororitas. The opponent was someone who I played my first game with which was a 2v2 because it was a nice matchmake with there being another totally new player on the other team, as I was on the other. First game, I didn't know actual shit about the abilities of my models, last night I checked them out and saw some crazy shit they can do.
Fast forward to today when I deployed my kravek and mutilator unit from deepstrike. Before charging with those models from the backlines into the side objectives that my opponent was holding, I remembered that the mutilators had an ability relation to charging.
Literally we both read it, and came to a conclusion that what unit youre targetting, thats what counts for the D6 dice you get from charging: "You can re-roll charge rolls made for this unit, and each time this unit makes a Charge move, select one enemy unit and roll one D6 for each model in this unit that is within Engagement Range of that unit: for each 4+, that enemy unit suffers D3 mortal wounds."
And we continued the game, with my mutilators and kravek not even getting to fight the sororitas they were slaughtering by just charging, because I was rolling 15 models worth of D fucking 6 dice they all got EVISERATED. Same with the other objective which also had 0 chance of actual survival with the 10 other sororitas. Another fast forward to like an hour after the game and both of us having left the LGS. He texts me, and points out its actually my models to count for the D6 for the ability, which kinda sucked but thinking about it, its fucking ridicilously OP otherwise. It was still fucking hilarious to both of us that I managed to fail like 3 out of 15 fucking dice rolls for 4+ and do some insane overkill on some poor sororitas holding an objective. and that insane luck also went onto the 10 other sororitas too which makes it even funnier that we got lucky making a mistakenly busted ability even more busted with the insane dice rolls.
