First credit card at 24, should I stick with one card for now?

Discussion / Conversation

Hi everyone! I’m 24F, still in university, and recently opened my first-ever credit card, the Capital One Savor Student. I’ve never had a credit card before, and my main goal right now is to start building my credit responsibly. This is all new to me and my parents never taught me anything about credit or anything like it.

I also recently opened a HYSA and am starting to get more intentional about saving and managing my money.

For someone completely new to credit, would you recommend sticking with just the Savor Student for now, or is there a reason I should consider opening another credit card fairly soon?

I’m not looking to overextend myself or collect cards just for the sake of having them. I mainly want to establish good habits and build a strong credit history.

What would you do if you were starting from scratch?
