Small ants around my house — what could be attracting them?

I haave been noticing small ants around my house, mostly near the windows and kitchen area.

I am located in Pakistan. The pest is small ants and I live in a house.

I am curious what usually causes recurring ant activity around a home and what areas are worth checking first.

What would you recommend checking before the problem gets worse?
