Book Pay & Demurrage: How $34/hr turned into $25/hr real pay

Took a job on book pay thinking running hard would offset any downsides. I was dead wrong.

A 70-hour work week consistently translated to only 59–61 hours on my paycheck—a 20% loss every week for two months. On top of that, demurrage didn't pay out until after waiting an hour in line, leaving a 30-minute dead zone where time was just lost. Their fix was letting drivers work a 6th day to recover the lost wages if their logs allowed it.

Curious to hear others' experiences with book pay and demurrage. How do your carriers handle it?
