Tired of low effort husband
Husband and I (both 34) have been married for 5, dated for 1.5 and have been acquaintances/friends before that. Feel like he has really stopped caring about anything and everything.
-
He wants to go out every weekend, but will not plan anything. Either I will have to plan or he will sulk because we spent the weekend indoors.
-
His idea of a date is dinner cause he enjoys eating out. Never an activity or experience or movie, nothing. I have communicated so many times I'd like to go on a breakfast date, but he wakes up too late every weekend. (we don't have kids).
-
I have communicated that I love getting handwritten notes, but I never received any.
-
Will not cook for me unless I ask to. Says that he doesn't know what I will like.
-
Makes a fuss about cleaning, why to do, doesn't like when I point out its not done nicely. I do it myself again, it irritates him.
-
Refuses counselling outright.
-
Does not take any efforts in my hobbies or lifestyle but will be the first to sulk when I try to do something for myself.
-
No, he is not the breadwinner. We both are.
-
His work is worship to him and he barely sees that all of household jobs are falling on me. His equality stops at my paycheck.
I feel like he is really inconsiderate and not willing to put in any work at all and I have to carry both emotional and physical responsibility in this marriage. I feel like my needs are not adressed and I have been emotionally nullified for a long time. Which has obviously reflected in physical intimacy. I don't like his touch anymore, which makes him more angry and upset.
I don't really know what to do.
I cannot bring up all of this again, because honestly, I have tried and have been shut down every single time.
Not sure if I am looking for advice, validation or maybe just a rant. But for sure I feel super exhausted.
TLDR: Low effort husband is making my life filled with exhaustion and resentment.
