Can a Dentist Narrow down the cause of cavities?

NSFWquestion

2 different dentist at the same office have given me the answer of, "sometimes its just genetics". When I ask why I keep getting cavities. Which feels more like a guess then a definite cause. (I'm open to it being genetics, It's just that it feels like they're guessing)

After 2022, I get atleast 1-2 cavities every year. I've gotten an inlay, onlay, root canal, and 2 fillings. Now they're saying I have around 10 cavities. They want to use curodont on some. And get 2 fillings and 2 inlays on the others.

I have an appointment on Aug 12th. Should I ask if they can pin point a cause? Or at this point should I get a second opinion and see if they can find a cause for the increase in cavities?
