Ubuntu or Debian for me? (Gaming and basic office stuff)

I used Cachy for couple of months but idk… zero issues with it but I’m not very happy with it being arch, rolling, bleeding edge and I have stupid feeling of it went up like other distros that once were loud and popular. I want something calm, well established, stable.

My rig is Ryzen 5 5600X and RX7600. I’m torn between Debian and Ubuntu. Well, I don’t care about corporate stuff (even Windows is not that scary for me) so I’m okay with Gnome, Snaps and other things. Especially since they fixed Steam snap mostly.
I like how it’s a Linux for people. I like it being easy about installing drivers and also being relatively up to date by default.
Debian is more loyal to free software idea and very stable, plus I see many recommend it for gaming rather than Ubuntu, but I mean it’s too old with its kernel and drivers. I have no intention going into stuff like downloading new kernel etc, I want stable software just as it is. I would like to have Valve vram optimizations but hey, Debian is gonna have it available decades from now.

Anyway what’s your experience?
