Singaporean lady - and I only have a vague suspicion

Now, I have searched the sub before posting, and some things resemble what I am about to ask. It's not much I have until right now.

A friend I live with got acquainted with some girl on the internet - I don't know where, exactly, but might be either Facebook or Whatsapp.

Only facts I currently have:

- Used to live in Singapore or being native from there
- Used to live in London, with her aunt which used to live there as well (or still does)
- Works in Munich as a textile/clothing designer
- I have seen a photo of "her" on my friends' tablet wallpaper; looks Asian, but not sure if that's a real person or what nationality/ethnicity
- According to his statement, they have already had video chat/facetimed on Whatsapp but I cannot confirm whether this is true; my friend does not speak English in the slightest
- Seem to be planning a person-to-person meeting
- My friend fell for some scam in the past; and we are often worried he will fall again.

Is there any red flag and should I be concerned?
