Azithromycin for wisdom teeth surgery recovery - Side effects?

Hi all, has anyone been prescribed Azithromycin / Z Pak after their wisdom teeth surgery? I started with amoxicillin but after around 3 doses I broke out in hives all over my body, so my surgeon switched me to Z Pak. I was prescribed a 6-pack of 250mg tablets, two tablets on day 1 and then one tablet for each of the next 4 days. Yesterday was “day 1” so I took the two 250mg tablets and a couple hours later I experienced a really bad stomachache / abdominal pain, it felt like a cramp multiplied by 100. Wasn’t really sure what to do so I took Zofran, Tums, and Tyneol but they only helped marginally. Now I’m a little apprehensive about continuing azithromycin but I don’t think I have many other options since I’m already allergic to amoxicillin- is there any way I can relieve these symptoms?

I know GI side effects are expected because antibiotics wipe out all your gut bacteria, even the good ones, but has anyone experienced similar or worse side effects during their time on azithromycin? Did you continue experiencing side effects even after completing your azithromycin prescription? Any guidance appreciated!

Some information that might be helpful: I’m also on 600mg of ibuprofen every 6 hours. I’ve taken that and the Z Pak on a mostly empty stomach because I haven’t been feeling an appetite due to my jaw pain.
