Installing Mint onto 2015 iMac

I was recently gifted a iMac from a family friend with these specs:

I tried testing the computer in Mint live with the intention of fully whipping Mac OS and had come up with a few problems. First, the speaker channels were mapped to the wrong places but was able to be fixed in the terminal. The second and more pressing problem was when I suspend the computer running Mint live it will eventually reboot and go back to Mac OS Monterey. My question is, does this error make it so that if I fully replace Mac OS will it persist and I would have a continuous problem?
