25 [M4F] Hyderabad/Anywhere - My best conversations lately have been with myself.

M4F

There is a specific moment I keep running into. A book ends in a way that catches me off guard, or a session of cricket turns on something small that nobody else seems to have noticed, and my first instinct is to tell someone. Then I remember there isn't a someone. So it stays in my head and slowly turns into a poem at 1am instead. That is a decent system, but I would rather have a person.

I write, mostly poetry, mostly for myself, the sort that arrives when I should be sleeping and my head is too loud to argue with. I read more than is strictly reasonable and come away with opinions I then inflict on anyone standing nearby. Cricket and F1 take up whatever space is left, and I follow both closely enough to get genuinely worked up about a strategy call or a collapse in the middle order. Work is finance, which pays for all of this and is comfortably the least interesting sentence in this post.

Something I should say plainly. I am not the guy who wins a room over in the first ten minutes. In person I go quiet and land on the right thing to say roughly an hour too late. In writing I loosen up, and I am much better company than that first impression suggests.

I am not looking for elaborate weekends or a calendar to coordinate. Just one person to talk to properly. Someone with things she genuinely cares about, who reads a question before answering it, and who does not let a conversation die the moment it starts going somewhere good.

If you have ever finished a book and immediately wanted to tell someone about it, I would like to be that someone. Start with the last one that did that to you.
