BCM parasitic draw sorted by removing its 60a under hood fuse and reinstalling next day? Testing day before should have allowed modules to reset….
Recently purchased a Fiat 500 Turbo, battery died day after bringing it home. Tested with a bad cell, alternator good.
New battery installed, dead again after sitting 2 days. Pulled battery out of car, recharged over the course of the night, more than enough time to reset modules.
I reinstalled battery, waited an hour with meter in series off the negative terminal and discovered a 810ma parasitic draw that went to 0 when pulling the 60a BCM fuse under hood. Came back immediately after reinstalling. Pulled it like 5 times to verify. Pulled every under hood fuse, the issue was with that 60a fuse for the body module as there was no movement on any other fuse. Ensured I had the meter in series off the negative correctly, locked door, keys nowhere near and no interior, trunk or accessory lights on in any way. AFTER reseating all pulled fuses, still 810.
I didn’t have time last night to pull the interior fuses connected to the BCM, tightened terminals, yanked that 60a fuse as I didn’t want to kill the battery and upon checking this morning after reinstalling the fuse…. 34mA draw.
Color me confused
