Reality Check Request

Giving Advice

I have been learning and practicing trading since the start of this year on a paper trading account, which dipped as low as £13,500 from the £20k start.

I have managed to find my stride and indicators and times of day that i trade best at, and loss chase less, and all those good things.

The account is back up to £14.5k, and when i get back to £20k, i will seriously think about putting my own money on the line.

My main question comes to this; on the S&P 500 futures, is it realistic to believe reliably to get 9 pts of profit per day/45pts per week.

I ask because I'm thinking of approaching trading with an investment compounding value approach. 1% of account value profit per day, or 5% per week (with those above pts values of 9 pd and 45 pw)

Even if I hit less than this, and less regularly, there should be good profit and compounding to be had over several years (not full time, and while still working), and if i can keep to my target, then hopefully fat piles of cash (tax free in a uk spread betting account)

So, am I stupid? Misty eyed hopefulness? I know its not easy, but it seems too.... Straightforward and obvious to be right. But I cant see where I've calculated this incorrectly :|

All help and replies very gratefully received. Thank you all
