Why I started building MatchPod ?

Ask anyone in Bangalore about their flatmate and you'll get a story. Not about the flat. About the person.

The night shift guy who came home at 4am. The one who never cleaned the kitchen and didn't think it was a problem. The one whose partner basically moved in and nobody agreed to it. The one who was late with rent every single month.

Here's the thing though. Most of that was knowable before anyone moved in. Sleep schedule, how clean someone actually is, how often people come over, food, work hours. Nobody asks any of it. You see photos of a room, you check the rent, you meet the person for fifteen minutes, and then you live with them for a year.

Every app out there helps you find a flat. Finding the flat was never the hard part.

So we flipped it. MatchPod matches you on how you live first. Around 50 things like sleep, cleanliness, guests, noise, food habits, work hours. The flat comes after. Profiles are verified. No brokers, no brokerage.

Live right now in Koramangala, HSR, Indiranagar and Whitefield. iOS beta for now, Android is being built.

One thing I actually want from this post: what's one thing you wish you knew about your flatmate before moving in? Asking seriously. A lot of what went into the app came from answers to that.
