This is what I was afraid of
A huge part of why I maintained my low weight for so long was because I was trying to avoid male attention. I was going through a bad patch with my husband and I didn’t want him to be attracted to me so that I didn’t have to have sex with him. I found that below a certain weight, men just kinda stopped catcalling and paying attention to me.
I’ve been putting in a lot of work to allow myself to be happy, to enjoy my food more and I’ve gained about >!15!< pounds from my lower weight. And now the creepy guys are coming back out of the woodwork. And like, I’m OLD. I’m 44. I recently got hit on by a guy almost 10 years younger than me. When does it stop? I feel like I have no value to men other than my body. They ignore me until they see boobs and suddenly they want to talk then. I’m just so frustrated. I’m in the healthy BMI range now, and I feel so much better. But damn if I don’t sort of miss being invisible.
