Hey there, i appericiate work of you, my fellow guitar people. This is my progress of my first guitar mod. Please consider im using just my knowledge from carpentry and electrinics, that i do around home. My expectations were-> get rid of the ugly paint, get pure veneer finish and then use boiled linseed oil, that i like to use, when i make furniture and get all the electronics back inside. There was a lot of twists. Getting rid of thick layer of plastic paint was a little tricky for me, because i usualy work with raw wood. So i spent like 12 hours grinding it down with sandpaper and i ended up having just a little progress. As you can see on photo no. 1 and i thought, it would be a good idea to use hot gun, so i can scrape the paint with spatula. It went very good. Until i started to feel tired. I ended up with damaged veneer and was just furious. There was holes and bubbles, it was bad. So i i sat down to calm down and told myselve. I cant throw this in garbage. Its a nice guitar. So from this point, i didnt try to save it. It would be ugly. I scraped the veneer all down, how you can see on photos no. 2 and 3. The wood is not perfect, but i think, this worked out better than i thought it would. So. Then i sanded it best i could and put boiled linseed oil on it, in like 3 to 4 layers, i think its better to put more thinner layers than one thick. Then i let the wood and oil do its job. It hardened. Then i forgot to polish it, put back just two humbuckers with Direct output to jack, because i found out, the knobs were damaged(they make noices when used) and the switch is snapped in half. What i plan to do. The electronics must go back down, its the first thing. I will polish the surface of guitar, maybe with use of one more layer of oil and i need to cover the holes after knobs and switch. Also i will need to make better 0. fret (sorry idc how to say it in english), i mean i think its nut. Cause i used a piece of billboard plastic. So far, when i plug it in jfet input on my soundcard, it gives very clean almost sharp signal. The high notes sound very sharp, but the bass ones are little under the blanket. It resonates well.

The last three photos are

1.& 2. how it looks now

3. how it looked before.
