Tenant filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy
The tenant filed bankruptcy which stayed the eviction back in March. I’ve been trying to get the eviction attorney to review the bankruptcy filing and let me know as of when they were supposed to start paying again. They respond quickly to other messages but have been very quiet when I ask about this. Finally they suggested I talk to a different attorney and that one appears to be semi retired and I’ve not yet received a response.
For anyone that has dealt with this - what am I allowed to do? It seems the bankruptcy filing and stay are complete but I have no actual information on it.
The tenant’s lease expired at the end of July and they have reached out asking if they can sign a new lease. I’d like to say - if you pay back half of the past due rent I’ll allow you to sign a new lease, but can I do that?
