This thread makes me very sad
It seems like all I see is everyone else succeeding and sharing their successes. Or, that's all that reach me. For someone who is working full time in a miserable job and trying to build something successful of their own, it just feels like salt on a wound.
Guy 1: I had no degree and make 150k a year haha life is swell!
Guy 2: my software is making me 700$ weekly! Life is swell!
Guy 3: I sold several companies now and live on a yacht, life is swell!
I know that isn't representative of all builders, and I know many more have failed than succeeded but perhaps they don't get the traction in visibility.
I've got two products on Google play as someone working in retail, and multiple angles aimed at distribution and visibility, so there are some very small incremental wins. But-
But, no financial success. No idea what I'm doing or where I am going and I am just trying, desperately, clawingly, with every fiber of my being, to escape retail work - but seem like I am not allowed to.
Maybe this post is too vulnerable for this thread ? Or maybe its just vulnerable enough to point at the inner struggles faced by many software builders who are desperate for a change ?
Any advice?
