Late Game House Design... I cant decide!

(please ignore the clutter as I am redesigning my house)

I cant decide if I want some kind of tile pattern in my kitchen or not... I think it would be nice, but I'm not sure what colors to use. The first picture has tiles messily placed everywhere just to give an idea of the different combinations.

Also any recommendations of where I can put the pet bed and bowl in this room would be appreciated!

Side question about children once you get married: do they have a crib/their own bed?
