My bookmarks and passwords are completely gone

there was a sudden close of my tabs and i hit restore tabs from last time, next thing i know, my bookmarks tab is gone, and my password manager is empty too. I tried resetting my computer to this morning, I logged out then logged back in, but i confirmed that its gone from my google profile.

has this happened to anyone else? Is there any way I can recover? I have no idea what could have possibly caused this
