Gift codes, custom prefixes, and a Monster Codex, plus a code for you (Patch 44)

Hey all,

Like last time, I've been quietly rolling out pieces of this update in the background before pulling it all together into today's patch notes. This worked out well, so I'm going to keep doing that going forward where it makes sense, meaning you all get new stuff a little sooner instead of waiting for one big drop.

This one's packed. Three new systems, a bunch of QoL, some real bug fixes, and a gift code at the end.

First up, the one I've been hinting at in the previous patch notes: gift codes are here. Use /gift_code or !gift_code to redeem a code for rewards, or look back at codes you've already claimed and what you got. The same scaling logic daily rewards use are applied here: Golden Coin and potion rewards scale up with your level.

Second, you can now change your prefix. If you've been using ! commands instead of slash commands, like !profile, you're no longer stuck with just !. Use /prefix or !prefix to set up to 4 visible non-space characters as your prefix, so something like TRPGprofile or $profile works fine. Reset back to ! whenever you want. Anywhere the bot shows a prefix example, it'll now dynamically reflect whatever you've set.

Third, /commands or !commands jumps you straight to the Bot Commands list in the help feature. Handy for quickly checking what's new after a patch instead of digging through the whole help menu.

And the big one: the Monster Codex. Access it with /monster_codex or !monster_codex. Every kill now matters long term, each monster you defeat gets tracked, and you can rank it up, up to 20 ranks per monster. Every rank gives a permanent +1% XP and Drop rate boost against that specific monster, and unlocks more insight into its stats, and eventually its drops.

A handful of other changes:

  • Class change quests now show monster levels for required kills, receiving the same treatment quests got last patch
  • Fixed the tutorial command reopening the start embed for players who ran /start but never touched its buttons
  • Added more navigation buttons across several features
  • Fixed refinable materials not showing in the crafting embed when a class filter was active
  • Squashed a big batch of background error messages. The bot's more stable than it's been in a while!
  • Fixed collection quests (gathering, mining, hunting, woodcutting) that were impossible to complete because refined materials got mistakenly added as requirements
  • All guides updated to match

And as promised, a gift code:

GOTTACODEXEMALL

Hope you all enjoy this one. Stick around, there's a lot more coming.
