Pregnancy is hard

Rant

Exactly that. I'm just past 16weeks and so far has been tough. I basically lived with my head in the toilet for 3.5 months and while the nausea has dimmed a little my body is changing so quickly and new quirks keep springing up. I dont feel like my body is my own anymore and its frightening. When my mother tells me how much she just loved being pregnant the guilt hits me hard.

On top of the physical changes, im tired of feeling like I've been reduced to a carrier. Constantly being told by my mother and step father "you take care of our grandchild" like I have any control over what happens in there?? Will I be a villian if something outside of my control happens to my baby?? Of course im doing my best to eat healthy and exercise yadda yadda.

My sister treats me as if im made of glass now and I get scolded for doing activities I know im capable of doing. Its incredibly frustrating. I can't even jump into a lake for a swim without someone saying I shouldn't be jumping.

Im just overwhelmed with the stress of it all and I know my body will get more strange to me and the stresses will increase. Im so worried about expressing boundaries with my mother. I've already had to argue with her about her not being in the delivery room at like 4weeks when i first found out and I fear she'll still fight me on being there as soon as the baby comes out.

I dont want an audience for the most vulnerable time in my life. I dont want someone there as soon as possible while my hubby and I are trying to adjust to a new person in our lives telling us how we should be doing things. I so desperately want to figure out what works for ourselves.

Honestly im just scared of trying to set boundaries i guess. The rest I can cope with but I know how my mom is and I know that she means well but she is incredibly overbearing at times and I know there will be a big argument in the future where I will wind up being the villian.

I really am so excited to meet my baby but my god is the cosmic-horror that is pregnancy terrifying.
