Weird electric problem with a 2023 Scrambler 900
Hi
I've had weird problems today, and I'd like inputs from someone more knowledgeable than me.
I'm on a 2 week trip with friends.
This afternoon, after lunch, I tried to start the bike but my finger slip from the switch and the spring sent it back to the killswitch position.
After that, the bike wouldn't start. Either the dash wouldn't light up, or it would shut down when trying to start the bike.
The dash would sometimes light up at random.
Disassembling and cleaning the switch changed nothing.
After some time waiting for assistance, I tried to start it again out of boredom and it started!
The problem is that I have no confidence in the bike for the remaining 1500 km... If it acts weird at random in a remote mountain pass, I'll be pissed...
My theory is that the messed up start made the computer bug, and it acted weird until it reset after being left idle for some time.
Is my theory possible ?
Does anyone have a better explaination ?
And finally, is it normal for the springloaded starting switch to flick to the killswitch position when handled brutally?
Thanks in advance. I'm pretty worried for the coming week...
