Just joined warthunder and tips or tricks?

i just joined warthunder about a month ago and havent played much but now i have more time.

my cousin has SO much more stuff than me and i wanna eventually be able to beat him in a game. how can i get more stuff fast so that i can beat him?

I'm currently going down the german tech tree and have the PZ-38 (t) A

please help
