how to address issues with MCAT

I have a few interview invites and some admissions 1:1 advising calls but I got a 497 my last two attempts. Below is my score progression:

490 (9/2025, 120/122/123/125 )

497 (2/2026, 124/122/123/128)

497 (5/30/26, 125/124/126/122)

I basically lost my grandmother to Alzheimer's in between my 2nd and 3rd and thought I could just take the 3rd retake. A lot of family things popped up, and I already had one admissions person ask me over the phone why I didn't wait. I later ended up getting a Pre-II soft R from that school. I just feel like my answer isn't good enough and is an excuse. I also know I will ask them what I can do better, and their answer is gonna be to retake the MCAT lol. I'm kinda lost and need to come up with a good response, so if anyone has any ideas, pls lmk.
