AIMS NYC

Hi everyone! I will be a speech provider for an AIMS (Acquisition, Integration, Meaningful Communication, and Social Skills) program in NYC. It will be my first time in the DOE and as a provider for a Gr 1 AIMS classroom. I have some experience with AAC, but not a lot.

I am nervous, but excited to start. I’ve been doing plenty of research on AAC like Project Core, Stepping into AAC, and free resources through LAMP.

Does anyone have suggestions for more free resources to learn more about different AAC programs?

If anyone was/is an AIMS provider, are there any therapy materials/ resources you suggest I bring to the classroom?
