Day 7 of Recigar (2 days no Nicotine at all). It still sucks for me lol.
Hello all,
Been addicted to nicotine/vaping for 10+ years now and started as a young teen. I would say I'm definitely on the more heavily addicted side of it (50k puff vape lasts me maybe 4 days?). The only "break" I'd had before now was in six years ago when I was traveling and only chewed nicotine gum for a couple weeks (which was also a horrible experience, I didn't enjoy the vacation at all because I was going through withdrawal lol).
Fast forward to now, and I am trying to kick the addiction. Dad was addicted to nicotine and I absolutely have addictive tendencies, but I am wanting to quit because I don't even remember a life before vaping anymore.
I'm on Day 7 of Recigar (Cytisine), stopped vaping completely after Day 5 and even threw my vape away. I had major anxiety about quitting but I told my partner I would finally commit and try to after reading about folks' experience with Recigar. Don't get me wrong, it definitely helps blunt the cravings, but I still get pretty intense cravings regularly (I just couldn't imagine them without the Recigar). That's probably because I was so addicted to nicotine (wouldn't be surprised), but it's been tough as hell for me still.
Day 6 I ended up finding a vape leftover and took a puff of it (was having a craving at the time). I felt a ton of shame after and guilt, it was only 7 hours into quitting and I folded. But, I got back on the wagon, reset my Quit Vaping timer, and keep taking my Recigar. I'm now on Day 7 (the morning) and it's awful working during withdrawal.
I'm up to 19 hours now again after resetting my timer and am quite proud of it. It's been hard as hell still, but I've been trying to chew gum, take my Recigar, and keep myself busy with walks/petting my pup when I get cravings. Any advice to continue would be greatly appreciated cause I'm in a constant war with my head saying it's impossible even with Recigar LOL. Nearly every minute is still spent thinking about nicotine. This shit sucks man.
