Lowkey freaking out
I’m on leave right now waiting for my accommodations paperwork from my doctor. I have a lot of pain in my foot (metatarsalgia) due to the lack of mobility I have in my ankle from a piston fracture I had a few years ago. I’ve been bounced around to three different doctors since the last couple days of July. The first two saying they can’t fill out the paperwork, and the last one I saw said she doesn’t know if she can fill it out and she wants me to see a specialist and drop the papers at her front desk just in case. DLS needs the paperwork by August 30th and I already asked them to extend the deadline. And I don’t see the specialist until the 20th
Meanwhile I’m being told if DLS doesn’t get the paperwork or my accommodation gets denied my LOA status is marked denied, which then I’m subjected to the attendance policy for missed time.
I’m told by a lot of people that they can’t legally fire me for a medical reason. But my worry is if they’re not getting the documentation by the time they want it that it looks to them like I don’t have a medical reason.
