What are your personal TOP 10 crime fiction novels by Agatha Christie?

DISCUSSION

Just out of curiousity.

Here’s my list:

  1. Hercule Poirot’s Christmas: my all-time favourite. If I remember correctly, this was the very first AC book I’ve ever read, and it’s still the first on my list. It’s also very underrated, I could never see that twist coming.

  2. Murder on the Orient Express: I know, kinda cliché, but this was the book that made me a fan. I love everything about it, the vibes, the characters, the twist, and Poirot is iconic as always. It completely deserves it’s place among her most well-known works.

  3. And Then There Were None: I’m so angry that I spoiled this for myself by accidentally reading the last words of the story, but luckily that didn’t take much away from the experience. One of the most amazing books I’ve ever read.

  4. Dead Man’s Folly: I was looking for a copy of this book for ages, and after I finally read it, I can confirm that it was worth all the wait. And it also has my all-time favourite Christie character, Ariadne Oliver in it!

  5. Death Comes as the End: this book is an Agatha Christie novel, set in the ancient Egypt. How could it not be my favourite?!

  6. The Pale Horse: I didn’t care much for this book when I read it for the first time, but after I reread it, it became one of my favs.

  7. Crooked House: I just love when Agatha Christie writes about weird rich families.

  8. The Mysterious Affair at Styles: it took me forever to finally read Agatha’s first novel, but I really enjoyed it, and it was interesting to see how Poirot’s character started out first.

  9. Caribbean Mystery: although I love Miss Marple’s character, for some reason I don’t enjoy most of her novels nearly as much as e.g. the Poirot books. But this one made it to the 9th spot of the list!

  10. The Secret of Chimneys: I saw a lot of fans hating this book and this was really surprising to me, because I had so much fun reading it. It’s not your typical Agatha Christie book, and I loved that!

Honorable mentions: Sparkling Cyanide (this one could be number 9 or 10 too, but I read it a long time ago and only remember that I really loved it), Death on the Nile
