Pedophiles

As a new vegan, I am really struggling to not call every meat eater a pedophile.

In case you don't know why I do this: Consent. I think pedophilia, bestiality, and every other form of animal exploitation, are similar behaviors, because they all avoid the capacity to consent.

Why is it so much worse to violate a child than an adult? An adult didn't consent. But the child literally did not have the capacity to consent. Even if they said yes, it would still be illegal, and still much worse than adult rape, because we cannot deem a child to have the capacity to engage with such a decision.

In the same way, animals do not have the ability to consent, so the logical conclusion is not that meat eaters are pedophiles, but they display behavior and justifications similar to them.

So when I mention that they are pedophiles, normally they get angry. I also wouldn't like being called a pedophile, but I have no problem admitting that I engaged in behavior similar to that of pedophiles. I simply aligned my morals with my actions, and stopped being associated with one.

Now the real reason I can't resist calling everyone a pedophile, is because I still haven't heard a reasonable justification as to why I should stop.

The only one that makes sense, is that I am being very confrontational and causing anger, thus (possibly) preventing other people from being vegan. So the only reason I should stop calling them pedos, is still in favor of veganism, and still doesn't address the core moral issue with the lack of capacity to consent.

I used to think when being confronted with the possibility of committing a crime against children, even if not aware, you would want to change your behavior. But they immediately get so insulted, not with the argument, but the mere association of pedophilia. Making them immediately shut off from the conversation.
